AREA UPDATES
The area's more remote areas are still recovering however, the main roads of Rt 321 and Rt 105 are open and many businesses are welcoming guests beginning November 1, 2024. Rt 181 to RT. 105 is open into Sugar Mtn/Banner Elk.
NOVEMBER - MARCH
4WD is highly recommended/required. Chains may be needed (can be purchased locally). Keep extra blankets, water, baby food, snacks in the car in the event roads are shut down or you get stuck.
